Calling all book lovers and animal enthusiasts! "Tail Tales" is a special volunteer event where people of all ages—especially young readers—can enjoy the unique experience of reading stories to our gentle rescued donkeys. Whether you're a confident reader or just starting out, the donkeys make the perfect, non-judgmental audience who love the sound of a soothing voice.
This heartwarming event is designed to encourage literacy, build confidence, and provide a fun, relaxing way to spend time with our four-legged friends. Bring your favorite book or choose one from our selection, find a cozy spot, and let the donkeys be your attentive listeners!

You will not be entering the pens with the donkeys for this event. You will be directed to a safe area to sit and read outside one of our pens with friendly donkeys. Many donkeys will come to the fence to check you out while you are visiting. Available hours for this event are 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The listing says start time is 10:00, but as long as we know to expect you that day, you are welcome to come anytime before 2:00 pm. You may stay as brief or long as you'd like, but we close at 3:00 pm. If we are experiencing bad weather, high winds, rain, excessive heat or muddy conditions, this event will be canceled.
